My work is highly literary, a visual articulation of double entendre, paradox and puns. I find myself drawn to social issues -- homelessness, graffitti, censorship -- as well as issues more immediate to the art world, such as the interaction between audience and artwork, the problems of interpretation and the disregard of the creative voice. For me, these serious topics invite the use of humor: they are no laughing matter, but they do need the audience involvement that humor most efficiently invites.
